Reynaldo Villarreal

Reynaldo Villarreal, PhD, is an expert in Technology and Innovation Management, holding a Master’s in Technology Entrepreneurship and a degree in Systems Engineering. A Senior Researcher recognized by Minciencias, he specializes in artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, and emerging technologies to solve complex challenges across sectors such as healthcare, fintech, environmental management, and digital transformation. He has extensive experience leading multidisciplinary teams in applied research, technological development, and innovation, and he is the inventor of several patents related to autonomous sensors, computer vision, and intelligent systems, as well as the author of multiple scientific publications in AI and signal processing.

Currently, he serves as Director of Audacia, the Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Research Center at Universidad Simón Bolívar, recognized as a Center of Excellence by the OAS, where he leads high-impact technology projects to strengthen the innovation and technological development ecosystem in Latin America. Concurrently, he serves as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of fintech Liquitech, leading the development of AI-based digital factoring and financial platforms, and is co-founder of UFOTECH S.A.S., a company focused on advanced software and AI solutions that accelerate digital transformation for organizations through intelligent data and algorithms.
